Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an anime. At the end of the series, Madoka, who hasn't become a magical girl yet in that timeline, uses her wish to destroy all witches. She essentially becomes a goddess while doing so, destroying the witch she was destined to become.
Sayaka is still dead.
