Braces

ok does anyone here have braces? i just got them on, on july 22nd, and they are seriously making me so stressed. i know you're supposed to get used to them, but i honestly feel like i never will. and i'm seriously not trying to be melodramatic, but i tend to be a worrywart. i'm scared that i'm not taking good enough care of my teeth and then i'll get white spots and cavities. my teeth are still sore when i chew (so i don't chew yet) and i feel like even when they're not sore, i'm so limited to eating and i can't enjoy things that i would usually enjoy bc i'll be constantly thinking about it getting stuck in my braces and me having to brush my teeth again. and i don't know anyone PERSONALLY with braces who worries as much as i do but i'm just honestly so stressed atm. and i just want to know if anyone can relate to me or something, idk if anyone can, and this forum is inactive anyway, but i just felt an urge to post this bc i just feel really sad. and it's ridiculous how caught up i am over BRACES, but i feel like these next horrible 18-24 months (well my ortho said about 18 and it says 18 on the payment papers and stuff but i feel like it'll drag on to be 24) are gonna take FOREVER and i know i'm being a wimp but i literally just cry thinking about that. oh my god i just don't know

Aww, that sucks. My dad says I have to get braces... But my friends with braces said that the first few days is the worst, and it gets better from there. Sometimes I worry so much I can't sleep at night as well. The best thing to do is absorb yourself in something else you like that won't remind you of it (reading, drawing, sports, etc)

yeah the first four-ish days were the worst, I'm better now. at first, it only hurt when I chewed and apart from that, it didn't hurt. now I can ALMOST chew again. I didn't really mind the pain when I first got them. all I could and can think about was and is cleaning my teeth as best as I can and white spots and cavities. ;_; I don't think I'll ever stop worrying about that.
also it's really annoying because literally everything you eat gets stuck in your braces. I are ONE grain of rice, and whaddaya know? stuck.

don't worry about your braces you'll get used to them haha. my advice is to make sure you have enough dental wax to cover them with in case theyre sticking out and bothering you. i've had to do that sometimes on my bottom braces. also, for brushing, just make sure you brush your teeth thoroughly. focus on brushing each individual tooth, and be careful to get spots that stain easily like the gums or in between teeth (your wire might cover that part so you would have to angle your toothbrush a certain way). good luck!!

oh, and i get food stuck in my braces all the time lol. i've found the best and easiest way to get it out is by swishing water around in your mouth until it dislodges. kinda gross, but hey it works ((:
